The Rogelli Element insulated men’s winter jacket is designed for the coldest rides of the year. With a temperature range of -5°C to 5°C, this is the jacket for frost, cold winds and the dark winter months. The Eco Dynasquare fabric, with 240g/m² insulation, retains heat, and the light waffle texture on the outside gives the jacket a sturdy and stylish look.
The Eco Dynatherm Flex 240 brushed fabric on the inside of the arms and in the side panels ensures softness against the skin and sufficient freedom of movement for comfortable biking. The padded fleece collar and double cuffs on the sleeves keep out the wind and cold. Plus, the elasticated waistband with silicone grip keeps the jacket in place and your back fully covered, even when you are leaning low over the handlebars.
The 2-way autoblock zip is a very practical addition; you can open it from the bottom up for ventilation without having to open it all the way. At the back, there are three pockets that can hold your essentials, and a waterproof fourth pocket with a concealed zip that can hold your phone and/or keys. The AQUABLOC coating is CO2- and PFAS-free and protects against splashes and light rain.
Eco Dynasquare fabric with 240g/m² insulation
The main fabric features a waffle texture on the outside and a 240g/m² insulation layer on the inside. This combination makes the Element jacket suitable for temperatures down to -5°C: The insulation layer retains your body heat and the outer fabric protects your from wind and splashing water.
Eco Dynatherm Flex 240 brushed fabric
The inside of the sleeves and the side panels are made from a brushed stretch fabric comprising 82% polyester and 18% elastane. "Brushed" means that the fibre ends have been raised to create a softer feel against the skin. The 18% elastane gives the panels sufficient stretch for great freedom of movement on the bike.
AQUABLOC coating
This coating is applied to both the main fabric and the back panel, and protects against road spray and light rain. AQUABLOC is CO2- and PFAS-free, meaning that no harmful fluorinated substances have been used in the water-repellency treatment.
2-way autoblock zip
The zip runs from top to bottom and from bottom to top. Thus, you can open the lower part for ventilation while keeping the upper part closed, which is comfortable on a long climb or if you get a bit too warm from exertion. The autoblock mechanism prevents the zip from opening by itself while cycling.
Ideal for:
- Temperatures ranging from -5°C to 5°C – frosty days, strong winds and the dark winter months;
- Riders looking for an insulated jacket with a sporty Race fit that offers both warmth and freedom of movement;
- Riders looking for a jacket that offers lots of storage space with three back pockets and a waterproof pocket for valuables.
Not suitable for:
- Temperatures above 5°C – the 240g/m² insulation makes the jacket too warm for milder winter days; in such conditions, choose a thinner jacket or a windbreaker;
- Persistent heavy rain – the AQUABLOC coating protects against splashes and light rain but is not fully waterproof, so in heavy rain you should wear a rain jacket over it;
- Riders looking for a loose or comfortable fit – since the Race fit is close-fitting, you should choose the next size up if you want to be able to wear an extra layer underneath.
Not sure about the size? Here’s how to check:
Measure your chest circumference at the widest point and your waist circumference at the narrowest point. Select your size in the order box based on these measurements. The Race fit is close-fitting; if you want to able to wear a thick base layer underneath, choose the larger size for sufficient room.
How to keep your Element cycling jacket in good condition
- Wash on a cold cycle and inside out: Select a cold cycle and place the jacket inside out in the washing machine to protect the AQUABLOC coating and the insulating layer.
- Use a mild detergent: Do not use a bio-detergent or fabric softener. Fabric softener will damage the water-repellent coating and reduce the insulating effect.
- Do not bleach or dry-clean: Both will damage the coating and the insulating layer.
- Line-dry: Do not tumble dry because heat damages the insulating layer and the coating.
- If the AQUABLOC coating loses its water-repellent effect over time, it does not mean the coating has disappeared; it has simply been flattened by use and washing. Gently ironing it at a low temperature through a dry cloth may reactivate the coating. Check the care label first.
- Use the 2-way zip cleverly: Open it from the bottom a few centimetres on a long climb for ventilation. This way, you will not overheat and do not have to open the jacket all the way.
- Always close the zip on the waterproof back pocket before getting on your bike. The pocket is waterproof but only when it is closed.
